Countdown to become an adult!

33 Days Thumb

Its funny to think about but im technically going to be an adult in 33 days. Wow. Im not 18, Im not ready, but its going to happen! Im excited for this! Finally get to make my own decisions, hang out with my friends whenever! Oh wait… Never-mind I’ll be working. Ya, Adult life seems great.

Although Im looking forward to this Im also very scared because its something new, I’ve never done this before and yes. Im scared. So far I think I have made a good foundation and really setting myself up for success, especially in this economy currently. Got a job, secured housing, have a plan for meals. Well lets just say the Army takes care of me! haha!

Im encouraged by this verse from 1 Corinthians 13:11

When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.

Its time for me to grow up, and give up those childish ways I once had. Although some will stick around. I mean come on! Everybody still needs to bring the gameboy out for a minute or two! Its going to be neat what is ahead of me! I don’t fully know what God has in store for me but Im praying that my heart is soft and receptive for what he has planned! Its been a journey this year already and Im only 23 days in! Im excited!

Thank you kindly for visiting and following my blog. I too am a Christian but with what I blog about, I just want the love to show, not have people feel preached at so I don’t blog about my faith. I go by the verse “they will know we are Christians by our love.” :)

Hi Jeremy, it’s great you’re looking forward to being an adult. But hey 18 is just a number – it all depends what you do with it. I’ll soon be counting the days till 40 and I can’t say I’ve got it all figured out. Be ready to keep learning and you’ll be fine!

Just stopping by to thank you for visiting Shift Key today. Although I am closer to 100 than 30, we do share a few things. I enlisted in the Army when I was 19, turned 21 in Vietnam which I thought was a big deal. And Christ is Lord, unchanging and true for both of us and will be Lord for us both in the years ahead. (In a February blog last year I posted a few of my old Army pictures.) I’m looking around your site; a lot to look at. Thanks, Jeremy.

I have been reading and enjoying your posts Jeremy. I will keep you in my prayers that God will keep special watch over you as you step over into the world of adults. You do have a solid foundation, you are a brother to Christ. There is no better foundation that the one He provides. Don’t try to grow up to early, just enjoy each day for what it is. God bless.
